Double concert with CEL.
In her new solo project, Maika Küster creates a highly contemporary sound between synth pop, folk, indie and electronica. Sometimes bright and hopeful, sometimes dark and melancholy, the nine songs on her solo debut "Holy Noon", released in April, are carried by her warm, soulful voice and evoke distant memories of artists such as Zola Jesus or Cat Power.

Hearing MAIKA's music makes you want to dream. Not only of the surreal, but also of the past, the present and of an indefinite longing that sometimes brings tears to the eyes. In the context of the Leipziger Jazztage, Maika will not be alone on stage: With Anthony Greminger on drums, Jan Krause on guitar, Yannik Tiemann on double bass and Benedikt Ter Braak on piano, the young band has found its perfect balance on stage. Together they form a well-rehearsed team, carried and united by the warm, soulful voice of their lead singer. Anyone who misses the versatility of the genre at other jazz concerts is sure to find it at MAIKA.

Afterwards: CEL (Felix Kubin & Hubert Zemler)

Cooperation with WERK 2.

Trigger warning: use of strobe light.
