When you listen to Lyn&TheFingers, you immediately realize that this band has something to say. Founded in 2023 as part of their studies at HMT Leipzig, they have been creating a haunting mix of sounds ever since, drawing on the six members' sometimes very different musical backgrounds. Their songs oscillate between pop and jazz, neo soul and progressive sounds.

The focus is on singer Nora Lyn Handschuh. With an impressive mixture of clarity and vulnerability, she performs stories that connect the big stories with the small stories of the world. Because whether it's climate change, politics or emotions: In the end, her songs bring together all the supposedly separate strands.

After two years of intensive work, the city of Leipzig recently announced that Lyn&TheFingers will be awarded this year's Leipzig Jazz Newcomer Prize. The jury sees the band as an "outstanding example of the creative potential of the young Leipzig scene". The concert as part of the Leipzig Jazz Days will underline this assessment with emphasis.
