The SINULARIA project by Jo Wespel aka Beatdenker plays »Subwater Beats«: the trio combines Wonky and IDM with jazz and improvisation, complex rhythms with floating melodies and chords from the world of electronica. They do not avoid sonic complexity, but rather push it, creating their very own version of beat music in the third millennium.

SINULARIA are the inventors, but above all the embodiment of their own genre, the Subwater Beat: a musical-rhythmic realization of the octopus - that exceptional biological phenomenon whose nervous system bears no resemblance to the human one. On the homepage of their Subwater Beats collective, the band gets more specific and writes of a combination of »Wonky Beats and IDM, inspired by Flying Lotus and Aphex Twin, jazz and improvisation«. The result is the design of an acoustic-rhythmic and visual environment that is both simple and floating at the same time. Just like the octopus, which constantly turns up the speed and creates a fluorescent sound spectacle out of a deep blue day.
