3rd Nationwide Children's Jazz Festival
Jazz and improvisation - a wonderful experience for children!
Under the motto: "Listen! Experience! Join in!" the nationwide children's jazz festival with concerts, workshops and sessions will take place for the third time from April 30 - March 3, 2012 at the MDR Orchestersaal on Augustusplatz and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater. Organizer is the Leipzig association "Kids Jazz L.E.e.V.", whose goal is the promotion of musical education and culture of children and young people in the field of jazz.
The festival is aimed both at children and young people aged 4-16 who have gained their first experience on their instrument, as well as those who may already have their first band or performance experience. This festival allows young jazz musicians to showcase their skills in front of an audience in an appropriate setting.
In the evening concerts "Kinder jazzen für Kinder", bands and soloists from all over Germany perform over 3 days.
During the workshops with experienced, professional jazz musicians and music educators, there is the opportunity for exchange and improvisation. The children and young people experience new impulses and should be supported further in their creative work. While playing together in bands, which were put together from the workshop participants during the festival, or in the jam session on Saturday, they can try themselves out, develop new ideas and also perform on a stage.
Interested children and young people can register for the workshops in the rooms of the University of Music and Theatre on Saturday and Sunday at info@kidsjazz.de.

For all young children who do not yet play an instrument.

17:00 - 19:00 Concert

19:15 Jam session
The jam session starts directly after the concert.

This workshop is only for children who have already participated the day before.
The merged bands will play 2 pm on the big festival stage!
