Women in Jazz (Day 6)

Prices
Since its foundation in 2006, the "Women in Jazz" festival in Halle has been dedicated to gender equality in art and culture. The festival was previously modeled on its US counterpart - in Europe, it initially played a pioneering role with its approach.
Once again this year, the organizing team is presenting a line-up that is as fantastic as it is diverse. One of the highlights is the concert by US singer China Moses, whose unique, powerful voice is reminiscent of the unforgettable Dinah Washington. Berlin pianist Julia Hülsmann, who has already celebrated acclaimed performances at the festival in the past, also returns to the festival stage this year and presents a sound with her quartet that is inspired by the post-bop of the 1960s, but transforms it cleverly and sensitively into the 21st century.
You can also look forward to performances by Norwegian singer Rebekka Bakken, Japanese pianist Hiromi and her fantastic live band, and Korean singer Youn Sun Nan, whose globally acclaimed music follows in the tradition of unforgotten artists such as Nina Simone, Björk and Grace Jones.
