South Tyrol Jazz Festival Alto Adige (Day 10)

Since the beginning of European intellectual history, the idea that culture and nature are antagonistic, mutually exclusive categories has been omnipresent. The South Tyrol Jazz Festival Alto Adige has long known that this is humbug: since 1982, one of the most exciting jazz festivals in Europe has been held there once a year amidst picturesque mountain scenery - proving that culture can also - and possibly only - unfold its full effect in the midst of nature.
Once again this year, the focus is not primarily on the really big names, but first and foremost on exciting, bold, sometimes niche acts from jazz and related styles. As in previous years, two Leipzig-based musicians, trombonist Antonia Hausmann and multi-instrumentalist Damian Dalla Torre, who was born in Bolzano in South Tyrol, are once again part of the line-up with various formations. Both are currently among the national and international figureheads of the local scene. With the concert by Hausmann's quartet, the festival is also continuing its cooperation with the Leipziger Jazztage.
You can also look forward to performances by Sylvain Rifflet, She's Analog, KIW, SONIC REACTION and the Ella ZIrina Trio. With Poeji and Camila Nebbia, two acts have also been booked who already impressed at last year's Leipziger Jazztage.
