The musical antithesis to this year's opera evening of the Leipzig Jazz Days is the closing evening of the festival at Werk 2: with SALOMEA and DJ Allynx, we have invited two acts whose sounds each dare to build a bridge between classic jazz and funk tunes and pop-cultural sounds with their own unique pulse.

Since their formation in the early 2010s, the former have become a central figurehead of the Cologne scene. With their eclectic sound, the formation around frontwoman Rebekka Salomea Ziegler pays tribute to legendary jazz singers such as Sharon Jones, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday as well as contemporary hip hop and soulful pop sounds.

Berlin-based DJ Allynx, on the other hand, is now at the forefront of Berlin's club culture with her sound, which ranges between poly-rhythmic Afrobeat, nu jazz and soul. But whether it's a hip rave venue or a time-honored jazz festival, when DJ Allynx gets going on the turntables, everyone dances.
