DOK Leipzig
With the end of the Jazz Days, the next highly recommended cultural program in the city is also coming up: From October 28, around 250 documentary and animated films will be shown over seven days as part of DOK Leipzig.
The self-proclaimed aim of the festival team is to depict current political debates and shed light on their social embedding and imbalances. Always at the discursive height of the times, creative approaches and tendencies in contemporary film become visible at the same time. In this way, the festival implicitly contributes to a social exchange on the relationship between art and the social world and invites the audience to take on new perspectives beyond their own points of view.
Once again this year, coveted prizes will be awarded in a total of four categories. These include an international competition in the documentary and animated film categories, a national documentary film competition and an audience award.
