Anw Be Yonbolo

This project begins with a central promise that sends out a powerful signal in an increasingly fragmented world: "Anw Be Yonbolo" - we stand together.
A strong statement from two influential people whose artistic dialog demands to be continued even after years of working together. Years ago, the Malian singer Naïny Diabaté and the French-born pianist Eve Risser began to bring together their different stylistic backgrounds with their program "Kogoba Basigui" and a 15-piece band. They will now open the 49th edition of the Leipzig Jazz Days with their new project.
Less is more, says an old adage that has often been used in advertising and cheap wall calendars. "Anw Be Yonbolo" frees it from the dust and mustiness of the past and thus reveals the essentials: with intimate, always touching sound textures that - once caught - will resonate with us for a long time to come.
