40th Leipziger Jazztage: Michael Wollny, Tamar Halperin & hr-Bigband /
Antonio Sanchez Migration and solo performance with dancers of the Leipzig Ballet"; "Antonio Sanchez is undoubtedly one of the most important drummers of recent years (Pat Metheny Trio, Grammy for his soundtrack to the film "Birdman"). Exclusively for the 40th Leipziger Jazztage, he is working on a piece for solo drums and dance with Mario Schröder, director of the Leipzig Ballet. In addition, he and his band Migration will perform the highly acclaimed "Meridian Suite."
The great opera evening will be started by Michael Wollny, whose "Nosferatu" was celebrated last year at the Jazztage. The pianist now presents his Echo award-winning album "Wunderkammer XXL" with the hr-Bigband and harpsichordist Tamar Halperin, who comes from Israel.
