Jazz Choir of the HMT feat. Young Voices Brandenburg

The HMT Leipzig jazz choir, directed by Daniel Barke, comprises 40 members. For him, the focus is always on not conforming to the narrow corset of tradition, but on bringing together different, sometimes contradictory musical and stylistic strands.

The choir's repertoire includes pieces by Bon Iver, The Real Group, Chat Faker as well as pieces composed by the choirmaster himself. All songs have been tailored to the choir's profile and rearranged.

The jazz choir will also be joined on stage in July by the Young Voices, Brandenburg's state youth choir. Local singing greats Diana Labrenz, Alice Wohlust and Toni Linke have also been announced as guests.

Together, they will take the opportunity to bid a fitting farewell to Daniel Barke as choirmaster: After seven years, he has decided to leave the jazz choir and seek new challenges.
