First of all: The insatiable greed for life. Not dull drifting and open-ended gurgling in a life drunkenness. Rather: Drawing from impressions, compressing the essence of the experience into "Wohlton" and providing fresh nourishment for perception. This is STAX - the excellent band of drummer Max Stadtfeld. Stadtfeld, who recently shared the stage with Michael Wollny as part of his BAU.HAUS.KLANG quintet and who will release his first album on ACT at the end of April. With Matthew Halpin (ts), Bertram Burkert (g) and Reza Askari (kb), Stadtfeld travels from "Liggeringen," hometown and Echo Valley, to "Fifteen Shades of Grey." This record release evening will be captivating in any case, when four musicians, beyond caution and restraint, merge into the cosmos of their band and convince with playing skills, elasticity and joy. In short: there are no reasons to stay away.
