Let's assume that there is a place that could exist beyond our present without being its light break at the same time - a place where you say hipster and don't mean the hip bunnies with the fixies, but jazzmen. Possibly it would be downright Elysian there. But dreaming of self-realization and individualism far away from our time is of little use - it's better to do it like Paul Lapp! Find a suitable circle of people with whom you can embark together on the search for a fresh musical self-understanding, which knows about its history, but also knows how to strike its own roots beyond it. "Forum" inspires through the individual strengths of its players and through the courageous compositions of the young bassist Lapp. Independent and reflective, the band knows how to provoke listening expectations, avoid clichés and deliver a pointed commentary on today with their first record. Or as Richie Beirach would say, "Enjoy!"
