Fabian Dudek is not yet 30 years old, and yet he is no longer a newcomer. With numerous releases with various formations, the Cologne saxophonist has firmly established himself on the German jazz scene in recent years.

He has become known not least for his complex compositions full of subtleties. In this respect, he no longer has to prove anything to anyone. Perhaps this is the reason why he has embarked on a completely new compositional path with his new project Recent: Because, contrary to Dudek's musical past, the trio's pieces are characterized by a surprising simplicity. Harmonies, rhythms and melodies enter into a symbiosis and always get to the point, without wedging themselves together or galloping off in their wealth of ideas. He has also found congenial and experienced musicians in Ruth Goller on electric bass and Kate Gentile on drums.
